About Freedom Shores

To people with disabilities, travel can be dangerous and a challenge, and yet we yearn for those adventures, the opportunity to be with our families and friends in new and exciting locales; to experience the richness of new cultures together and to build a tapestry of memories that surround us with their warmth when we go home.

Those yearnings drove Bill & Thelma to create a unique beach accessible Four-Star Resort & RV Park in the little fishing village of Isla Aguada, Campeche on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

No stranger to Mexico, Bill, a quadriplegic from a diving accident while serving as a Marine, lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico for several years where he met & married, his beautiful wife of 45 years, Thelma del Carmen. They always dreamed of opening a place where those with disabilities, and especially Disabled Veterans in Wheelchairs, could vacation, alone or with their families, in comfort. in a resort which met all of their needs and with activities in which everyone could participate.

That dream came true for them….now, let us make it come true for you!
